An Arts-Centered School
Burbank’s magnet program is taught by resident specialists, visiting artists, and classroom teachers. Through this interchange, the students gain appreciation of the Arts and Humanities.
Beginning in the primary grades, Burbank students perform for each other, the school, their parents, and the community. As their knowledge and sophistication increases, children add dance, folk art, and the visual arts of drawing, painting, and collage to their repertoire. Musical theater, film criticism, art history and ethnographic exploration all contribute to an atmosphere that encompasses a strong academic base well balanced with aesthetics.
The school’s constant goal is to produce a well-rounded mind in a healthy body that values its origins and seeks challenges for the future. Burbank’s academic growth has not occurred in spite of our insistence on a complete education, but because of it.
We are committed to scholarship through the arts.
